Pasta Pesto with Peas

A simple and delicious pasta dish made with store-bought pesto and frozen peas. This quick and easy recipe is perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 500g dried penne pasta (or other pasta)
  • 1 jar (190g) store-bought pesto sauce
  • 200g frozen peas
  • 100g grated Parmesan cheese, plus extra for serving
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package directions in a large pot of salted boiling water.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, add the frozen peas to the boiling water for the last 2-3 minutes.
  3. Drain the pasta and peas and return them to the pot.
  4. Stir in the pesto sauce and Parmesan cheese.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve immediately with extra Parmesan cheese, if desired.

Storage

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in the microwave or in a saucepan over low heat.
